Young Families

Vibrant Jewish Life for Families with Young Kids

At CBJ, we love young children and their parents, and opportunities for young families are growing. Be it joining our preschool, or attending the many Shabbat and holiday programs designed with young children in mind, we hope that your children will come to think of CBJ as their place. We look forward to seeing you!

Shabbat Mornings, 10:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. on the playground

Children ages three to seven years old are invited to celebrate Shabbat while their parents are engaged in other Shabbat activities at CBJ. They will enjoy a mini-service, storytime, songs, art projects, and games, along with learning the rituals of blessing the grape juice and challah. Due to the COVID-19 pandemic we will only be able to accommodate up to 6 children at this time. In the unlikely event that the program is full when you arrive, you and your child are welcome to stay and play on the play structure. For more information please contact Natalya Martyushova.

Junior Congregation

Join kids of all ages for Junior Congregation, led by our talented congregant Dan Leemon. This service features guitar-accompanied prayer and a very lively Torah discussion. Junior Congregation, which is part of our religious school curriculum, is where our students learn to be comfortable on the bimah while leading services, and creative and thoughtful in understanding prayers and Torah.
