CHALLENGING CONFLICT THROUGH UNDERSTANDING - Guest speaker: Gary Friedman

Saturday, March 4, 2023 11 Adar 5783

1:30 PM - 4:30 PMCBJ Social Hall

Most of us are very concerned about polarization in our family, shul and the wider world. But how do we do something about it, and why should we even try? On March 4th, come hear and learn from Gary Friedman, the world-renowned “godfather of mediation.” During Services, Gary will talk about his fascinating personal journey from using understanding to resolve conflict between others to realizing how hard it is to practice true understanding – a journey that was featured in Amanda Ripley’s excellent book, High Conflict. After Kiddush, participate in an interactive session where Gary will challenge us to think about why – during polarized times – we might want (or not want) to engage with people who think and behave differently than we do. Gary will also share tips and tricks for transforming conflict into something positive.

If you plan to bring children there will be a babysitting option offered. When registering please pick the Kids attending plus babysitting option and in the notes please add how many children and their ages.

Deadline to register is March 1st, 2023.
