Dear Friends,

 

I am so excited to introduce you to the Spring 2024 series of “Beyond Words” sessions.  We’ll meet in the Beit Aseifa study room from 10:00 am to 12:30 pm. It’s such a great way to prepare for Shabbat!

 

These sessions are open to everyone; no artistic skill or Torah expertise is needed. Just bring your curiosity and willingness to explore and learn together. Invite a friend! You are welcome to join us for only the beginning discussion part of the session, as well.

 

In the past, we explored the Torah portion for the week and made art to reflect our insights. For the subsequent three sessions, as part of the Resilience Through Jewish Joy Initiative, we’ll be exploring different aspects of “identity” as reflected through Torah scenes and characters and making Jewish art that you’ll have the option to share with our CBJ community later in the Spring (more on that when we meet).

 

We’ll kick off this special series focusing on what we can learn about “identity” through Moses, Miriam, and Aaron.

(Intrigued? Here are just a few passages that reveal some of the strengths and struggles of Moses: Exodus 4:10-14, Numbers 12:3; Miriam: Exodus 2:4-8, Numbers 12:1; Aaron: Exodus 4:14, Exodus 32:1-6.)
