                           Social Action - Tikkun Olam

Tikkun Olam is Hebrew for “repairing the world.”

At Congregation Beth Jacob, our vision of a successful synagogue is a diverse, integrated community that revolves around mitzvot, and where the congregants see themselves as partners in creating meaning and connection towards this goal.

CBJ is a vibrant, engaged community whose members are connected to the notion of Tikkun Olam in multiple and overlapping ways.

We coordinate projects throughout the year that bring together different ages and groups within the congregation. If you’re looking for ways to to support the local community this year please join one of these efforts.

    CBJ Blood Drive

    Wednesday, Dec 7th 3:00p to 7:00p
Every two seconds, someone in the U.S. needs blood. Blood is essential to help patients survive surgeries, cancer treatment, chronic illnesses, and traumatic injuries. The need for blood is constant but only about 3% of age-eligible people donate blood yearly. Will you help to save a life? If you are 16 or older, healthy, and meet the eligibility requirements please sign up to donate blood at CBJ on December 7. (Donors under 18 will need to bring a consent form signed by a parent.) Please help CBJ reach our goal of registering 36 donors and encourage your friends and family to donate, too! All donors will receive a t-shirt from the Stanford Blood Center.
