Welcome to Congregation Beth Jacob!

Our doors are always open to prospective members, and we welcome you to come in to talk to the clergy and the staff about making membership meaningful to you.

All of our programs and services are open to the public.  No membership is required to attend activities, special programs, classes and services at Congregation Beth Jacob.  Tickets are required for non-members for High Holy Day Services.

We encourage you to come to CBJ.  Participate in those of our services and programs that interest you most, and talk with some current members to see what they find special about CBJ.

If you decide that CBJ is a good fit for you and your family, please contact the office and request a membership form, download one here and return it to the office or click here to have someone contact you.  The office staff will be happy to answer any questions you may have and assist you in filling out the forms.

Dues at Congregation Beth Jacob are based upon a “Fair Share” program. Most of our members who are in their working years commit to the Fair Share guideline of 1.5 percent of adjusted gross income (AGI). Dues are adjusted annually in accordance with the congregation’s budget as approved by the Board of Directors. Members agree to review their commitments annually and to adjust them based on changes in their means.

Congregation Beth Jacob never refuses membership to anyone because of inability to pay. In cases where standard Fair Share dues present a hardship, we work with our members to determine fair dues under the circumstances. This process is completely confidential and private. Please contact our Executive Director, Eric Stone, by email or at 650-366-8481, ext. 333, with any questions about membership dues.

Again, we welcome you to YOUR synagogue and look forward to meeting you and answering any questions you may have.
